MediaFrame · Australia

Canberra policy, traced
from idea to enforcement.

MediaFrame follows Australian policy from the think tanks where it starts, through the Commonwealth record, to the Acts that implement it — and shows how the press frames it.

An amending Act is registered on Tuesday. ASPI argued for the change months earlier; DFAT and Defence signalled it in between; the coverage frames it as an alliance question. The pieces are public, but they sit in different places — and the trail between them is what tells you where the policy is going. MediaFrame keeps that trail in one place, dated and linked to every source.

One board for Canberra

The official record, as it moves

Commonwealth Acts as they are registered, DFAT and Defence releases — dated, linked, and joined to the think-tank pieces that argued for them first.

How each side frames it

Which lens a source casts a debate through — security, economic, legal, moral — and when that lens shifts, with the headlines behind every label.

A Region filter on every view

Switch the board to AU and every list narrows to sources based there; panels that summarise all regions say so. The same filter works in the data API and for AI agents.

How “AU” is defined: by where a source is based, not what it covers. International bodies (UN, NATO, OECD) and wires appear alongside every region. “(headlines)” means read as headlines and links only. Not yet covered: Parliament's bills and Hansard are not yet covered: its search system refuses automated access. Coverage is growing: sources added in October 2026 have history from then on.

Every item links to the document it came from. Frame labels come from a language model scored against a hand-labelled test set, and the measured error rate is published at /llms.txt. Each record keeps the terms it was collected under.
